The goal of this task is to communicate how content resources will be leveraged in order to align either with internal stakeholders, or with the client, prior to committing to the work.
- Create sitemap using the Sitemap Template in the client folder
- It is OK to use a different template if preferable, as long as it is clear in conveying:
- Which are net-new pages
- Which are existing pages that will be revised or rewritten
- Which are existing pages that may have just had a title change
- Anything else needed to complete the work.
- It is OK to use a different template if preferable, as long as it is clear in conveying:
- If there are stakeholders that need to approve the sitemap…
- For internal stakeholders: tag the relevant team member on the task and assign it to them to review
- For external stakeholders: Send the sitemap to the client in a word doc and copy the Account Strategist and Sales Rep. Give the client a timeline for review. Offer a very brief and high level summary on your rationale, if you feel it necessary (use your discretion based on the kickoff call)
- If the client has revisions:
- When communicating with them, ensure they understand that we’ll make their requested changes and proceed with completing the work. It shouldn’t be sent back to them for approval.
- Set the expectation with the client that we’ll move forward within 2-3 business days if we don’t hear back from them.
- If the client responds but says they need more time, be sure to communicate to the account strategist and sales rep so they know they are now accountable for obtaining approval from the client.
- If there are revisions that were made to the word doc, note the revisions in the task or attach the original, and ensure that the FINAL version of the file is the only version that is in the client folder in the shared drive.
