Creating a lookalike audience using CRM data
- Login to Stackadapt.com
- In the top navigation, click “Audiences”
- In the top right corner, click “Create Audience” and then “CRM Data Into An Audience”
- In the popup window, type the name of the audience using the following convention: Client Name – CRM – Audience Type
Ex: If I’m creating a lookalike audience for Bold based on a list of leads that converted into clients, I’d name the audience: Bold Digital Ventures, Inc.- CRM – Converted Clients Lookalike Audience
- Next, you’ll need to format the list to be uploaded into the platform. You can download the .csv template file here:
- Formatting the CRM data for upload:
- When adding the data to the csv template, the minimum column(s) needed for the CRM upload are as follows:
first name + last name + postal code
first name + last name + phone number
first name + last name + address + city + province/state + zip code
- Check to see how many rows of data you have. Then, start by adding the minimum number of columns that would yield the most amount of data. In other words, if I have the email address for every single person in the spreadsheet, I would start by adding that data into the template and then uploading it.
- After uploading, click the box for “Restrict this Audience By Advertiser” and then select the relevant client name from the dropdown list.
- Press “Submit” to finish the process. Once completed be sure to check the match rate to ensure it was successful.
If the audience size is 0, then something went wrong. If the audience size looks good, then notify someone on the StackAdapt team that you uploaded this data so it can be used in our campaigns.
If after uploading, the match rate is much lower than anticipated, then consider using a different column combination and uploading that to see if it results in a higher match rate.
