Creating RSS Proxy (When You Can’t Add An RSS Feed In Sendible)

Table of Contents

During the process of setting up auto-post in Sendible, you must add an RSS feed for the client’s blog before you can setup the auto-post feature. However, sometimes Sendible doesn’t recognize the feed URL when you enter it into the search bar. If this happens, you need to create a proxy feed and then add to Feedly.com in order to validate the feed.

Process:

  1. Copy the RSS feed URL from the source code of the website
  2. Visit https://feedburner.com/ and login with your google account
  3. In the lower right-hand corner, click the “Create Proxy” button.
  4. Paste the Feed URL into the popup window
  5. On the next screen, name the proxy feed (use name of the client) and then press the “create” button
  6. Click the edit button next to the feed you just created and then copy the “Custom URL”.
  7. Login to Feedly.com using the credentials listed in the master spreadsheet
  8. Once logged in, add a new feed to the Feedly account using the URL you copied from Feedburner
  9. After you’ve added the feed, click the “Follow” button to follow the feed.  This should help validate the feed
  10. Once the feed has been validated, return to Sendible and add the Feedburner URL as an RSS feed. It should now recognize the feed and allow you to add it so you can proceed with setting up autopost.

Why Does This Happen?

One reason why it’s not showing up is that it’s not recognized due to having low followers (which might not be the case for all RSS Feeds). This is a one-time process to do when you are adding your RSS feed and after that, it’s good to go and be set up for RSS Autoposter.
